ELIZABETHTOWN – East Bladen defeated St. Pauls 2-0 Tuesday in Three Rivers Conference jayvee volleyball action by set scores of 25-8 and 25-21.

Sophmore Abbie Cross reeled off ten straight service points early in the first set to spark the Lady Eagles to an early 12-1 lead.

Freshman Cheylee Mathis fired in 5 straight service points to stretch the Lady Eagle lead to a 21-6 lead. Sara Gargala served out the set with a trio of service points.

After freshman Kayleigh Raynor and Cross started the second set with one service point each, freshman Alyssa Futrell sparked the Lady Eagles to an 11-8 lead with 7 consecutive service points.

Freshman Katie Evans tallied a service point, and Mathis knocked in two more to pad the East Bladen lead to 16-11. Cross delivered another service point, and Futrell tallied two more, before Evans served out the match.

Cross led the Lady Eagle servers with 12 service points and added 3 kills. Futrell slammed in 8 kills, 2 blocks and 10 service points. Mathis racked up 7 service points.

Gargala hammered in 10 kills, a block and 3 service points. Raynor pounded in 3 kills, and Evans finished with 2 service points. Adrienne Howell added one kill.

The Lady Eagles travel to East Columbus Thursday at 4:30.
