DUBLIN – East Bladen defeated West Bladen 2-0 Tuesday in Three Rivers Conference jayvee volleyball action by set scores of 26-24 and 25-12.

Freshman Kayleigh Raynor fired in 3 service points as East Bladen grabbed a 4-1 lead in the first set. Freshman Khadijah Jones rallied the Lady Knights to a 6-4 lead with 4 service points. Another Raynor service run of 3 points edged East ahead 15-14.

Back came West with another Jones’ service run of 4 straight points that put West Bladen up 19-16. Two service points from freshman Katie Evans and one each by Cheylee Mathis and Lila McDuffie tied the set 24-24, before Raynor claimed set point for East with a service winner.

Raynor started the second set with 4 straight service points for a 4-0 East lead. Sophmore Abbie Cross followed with a 4-point service run that stretched the Lady Eagle lead to 9-1. Freshman Alyssa Futrell reeled off 7 consecutive service points that grew the East Bladen lead to 17-2.

A pair of service points from freshman Shelby Pharr and one from Cheyenne Lewis pulled West to within 21-10, but two more service points from Raynor allowed East to close out the match on a side-out.

Raynor led East Bladen with 13 service points and 3 kills. Sara Gargala contributed 5 kills and a block. Futrell finished with 7 service points, 3 kills and a block. Cross totaled 4 service points, 3 kills and 2 blocks.

Mathis collected 3 kills and a block, and Evans and McDuffie both knocked in 3 service points. Courtney Hathcock added a kill.

Jones filled up the stat sheet for the Lady Knights slamming in 5 kills, 3 aces and 5 service points. Pharr pounded in 5 kills and a service point.

Alana King hammered in 2 aces and 2 kills for West, and sophmore Jordan Benson knocked in a kill. Lewis added a service point.
