ELIZABETHTOWN – East Bladen defeated West Columbus 2-0 Thursday in Three Rivers Conference jayvee volleyball action by game scores of 25-16 and 25-20.

Freshman Kayleigh Raynor opened the match with 4 straight service points as the Lady Eagles built a 5-0 lead in the first game. Sophmore Abbie Cross reeled off 4 more service points that stretched the East lead to 10-1.

Freshman Alyssa Futrell recorded a service point, and freshman Katie Evans collected 2 service points to keep the lead at 15-5. Cheylee Mathis, Raynor and Cross added 2 service points each to close out the set.

Futrell dropped in 2 service points, and Evans fired in 3 more as East Bladen built a 9-6 lead in the second game. Sara Gargala posted 2 service points to keep the Lady Eagles up 12-7.

West Columbus rallied with an 11-1 run to take an 18-13 lead, but Raynor answered with a 5-point service run that tied the game 19-19. Cross pushed East ahead 21-20 with a service point, before Futrell served out the match with 3 straight service points.

Raynor led the winners with 11 service points. Cross finished with 7 service points, and Futrell followed with 6 service points. Evans racked up 5 service points, and Gargala and Mathis added 2 service points each.
