BLADENBORO – East Columbus defeated West Bladen 2-0 Monday in non-conference junior varsity volleyball action by set scores of 25-18 and 25-22.
Freshman Natalee Sykes poured in 7 service points, a kill, an ace and distributed 6 assists to lead the Lady Knights. Sophomore Marlene Crabtree lit up the scoreboard with 5 kills and 3 aces. Freshman Kali Allen dished out 4 assists and smoked in a pair of aces.
Freshman Jaylyn Clark pounded in 4 kills, 3 service points and had 1 dig for West. Tah’lea Bethea hammered in 4 kills, and freshman Jahyra Priest drilled in 3 kills. Emme Bryant fired in 4 service points.
Sophomore Kierra Lewis knocked in 2 kills and a block for the Lady Knights. Sophomore Marlie Walters and freshman Makenna Thurman banged in 1 ace and 1 service point each. Freshman Brenna Hester was credited with 1 dig.
The Lady Knight jayvees, now 2-3, close out the non-conference part of their scheduled Wednesday at South Columbus.
