LAKE WACCAMAW – East Columbus edged West Bladen 17-15 in the decisive 3rd set Tuesday to escape with a 2-1 victory in non-conference junior varsity volleyball action by set scores of 25-22, 23-25 and 17-15.

Freshman Ellie Kinlaw battered the East defense with 24 attacks, 14 kills, 2 service points and had 2 assists for West. Teammate Tah’lea Bethea pounded in 23 attacks, 10 kills and 6 service points. Kimberly Dowless handed out 8 assists and added 3 service points and 2 attacks.

Kali Allen drilled in 2 aces, 4 service points and was credited with 3 assists for the Lady Knights. Karlee Gause fired in 5 service points, 2 aces and had 1 attack. Brenna Hester knocked in 2 aces and 2 other service points.

Jahyra Priest slammed in 2 kills and had 10 attacks. Helaina Conklin smacked in an ace, another service point and had an attack. Shanna Lewis finished with a kill, a service point and 5 attacks.

West Bladen, now 3-2, will host rival East Bladen Wednesday night.
