ELIZABETHTOWN – Midway edged East Bladen 16-14 in the third and decisive set Monday night in nonconference jayvee volleyball action to claim a 2-1 victory by set scores of 18-25, 25-17 and 16-14.

Freshman AnnaGrey Heustess hammered in 5 kills, 5 service points and had 2 digs for the Lady Eagles. Sophomore Merritt Martin fired in 6 service points, 2 aces, a kill and had a dig. Freshman Emma Turbeville racked up 4 service points and 4 digs.

Anette Munoz lit up the scoreboard with 8 service points, an ace and added 3 digs for East. Freshman Meagan Burney slammed in 3 service points, a kill and had 3 digs. Freshman Karli Priest added a service point, an ace and a dig, and Kaitlyn Jackson had one dig.

The Lady Eagles, now 3-6 overall, will resume Three Rivers Conference play at West Bladen on Thursday.
