BLADENBORO – South Columbus outlasted West Bladen 2-1 Thursday by the slimmest of margins holding only a 62-61 edge in total points scored but prevailing in sets 25-23, 22-25 and 15-13 in non-conference jayvee volleyball action.
Freshman Natalee Sykes sparked the Lady Knight attack with 10 service points, 3 kills, 4 assists and a dig. Emme Bryant also poured in 10 service points and had 2 digs. Freshman Kali Allen drilled in 5 service points, 2 aces and had 2 digs.
Sophomore Marlene Crabtree hammered in 5 kills, 2 aces and 2 service points for West. Kierra Lewis blasted in 5 kills and 2 blocks. Freshman Jahyra Priest slammed in 5 kills and 2 service points.
Sophomore Marlie Walters knocked in 3 kills, a service point and had 1 dig for West Bladen. Freshman Jaylyn Clark knocked in 2 kills.
The Lady Knights, now 2-2, will host East Columbus Monday.
