ELIZABETHTOWN – St. Pauls rallied to take the final two sets and edge East Bladen 2-1 in Three Rivers Conference jayvee volleyball action by set scores of 22-25, 25-17 and 15-4.

A pair of service points from junior Adrienne Howell pulled East Bladen even at 7-7 in the opening set. A trio of service points from Lila McDuffie kept the Lady Eagles within 13-12.

Sophmore Cheyanne Merritt knocked in a trio of service points to edge the Lady Eagles in front 20-19. Two more service points from Howell kept East ahead 23-21. After a side-out, sophmore Cheylee Mathis served out the set.

McDuffie staked East Bladen to a quick 3-0 lead in Set 2 with 3 service points, but St. Pauls rode a 25-14 surge to take the set.

McDuffie topped the Lady Eagle servers with 6 service points. Howell followed with 5 service points, and Merritt finished with 4 service points.

Freshman Alexis Mitchell tallied 3 service points, and junior Shanell McMillian added 2 service points. Mathis and junior Brianna Thompson scored one service point each.

East Bladen will travel to East Columbus Thursday for a 4:30 match.
