JV Volleyball: St. Pauls 2, West Bladen 0

ST. PAULS – St. Pauls survived a pair of marathon sets to edge West Bladen 2-0 by set scores of 27-25 and 28-26 Thursday in Three Rivers Conference jayvee volleyball action.

Alyssa Suggs filled up the stat sheet for the Lady Knights with 6 aces, 4 service points, 5 kills and 4 digs. Teammate Emily Young slammed in 3 kills, 3 aces and 3 service points.

Catherine Dowless racked up 3 service points and 5 digs for West. Freshman Whitney McLean pounded in 2 kills and 2 service points. Caroline Brisson sparked the defense with 7 digs and had a service point.

Sophmore Kylee Ward fired in 3 aces, 2 service points and had one dig for the Lady Knights. Freshman Kennedy Carroll contributed 4 digs, and Kayla Norris and Lydia Villagomez knocked in one kill each.

“The jayvee girls played a great game,” said Coach Gaye Davis. “They just came up a little short.”

West Bladen is now 2-2 in league play and 4-2 overall and will host Fairmont Monday at 4:30.
