WILMINGTON – West Bladen defeated Cape Fear Academy 2-0 on Monday night in nonconference jayvee volleyball action by set scores of 25-15 and 25-11.

Emily Young hammered in 8 aces, 6 kills, 2 service points and dished out 5 assists for the Lady Knights. Teammate Catherine Dowless fired in 5 aces and 2 service points. Lydia Villagomez knocked in 4 kills.

West Bladen’s Caroline Brisson collected a team-high 5 digs, an assist and a service point. Freshman Whitney McLean slammed in 3 aces and a kill. Teammate Kylee Ward contributed 3 service points and an ace.

Alyssa Suggs racked up 2 service points, an ace, a kill and an assist. Freshman Kennedy Carroll pounded in 2 aces, and Kayla Norris added an ace.

Kaitlyn Sykes posted her first win as a head coach for the Lady Knight jayvees. West Bladen, 2-0, will begin Three Rivers Conference play at Red Springs on Tuesday at 4:30.
