WHITEVILLE – Whiteville defeated West Bladen 2-1 Thursday in Three Rivers Conference jayvee volleyball action by set scores of 19-25, 25-18 and 25-12.
Freshman Khadijah Jones pounded in 6 kills and 3 service points to lead the Lady Knights. Sophmore Jordan Benson drilled in 4 aces and 5 service points, and sophmore Erica Storms knocked in 7 service points and a kill.
Indra Rodriquez smacked in 3 service points for West Bladen, and Alana King tallied 2 service points. Freshman Shelby Pharr slammed in 2 kills, and Madison Cain, Taylor West and Cheyenne Lewis added one service point each.
“It was a hard-fought battle,” said West Bladen Coach Gaye Davis. The Lady Knights will travel to West Columbus Tuesday.
