(Abilene, TX) – The 2021 season is officially underway, and the first round of the Mackie Construction Ladies Pro Championship at Abilene Country Club – South Course is complete. This year’s tournament features 108 golf professionals from across 19. The field of 108 is the largest field size in Women’s All Pro Tour in history and boosts a total purse of $58,000 with a first-place prize of $11,000. Players were tested through the windy conditions, but some were able to prevail.

The low round of the day came from amateur Alexa Pano (Lake Worth, FL) posting a 69 (-3). Pano carded six birdies in her opening round and two bogeys. Four players are tied for second after 18 holes.

Hannah Arnold (Lufkin, TX), Hira Naveed (Australia), Olivia Benzin (Tacoma, WA), and Yue Ren (Arcadia, CA) all finished their opening round at 1-under (71).

Bladen’s Kayla Thompson shot 40-37=77 in the first round of the tourney.
Round two will begin tomorrow at 8:00 A.M. with pairings staying the same, but players will switch between morning and afternoon waves.
