(Abilene, TX) – The second round of the Mackie Construction Ladies Pro Championship at AbileneCountry Club is in the books. The field on 108 saw favorable conditions setting players up to post some low rounds. After 36 holes the top of the leaderboard looks different as some climbed as many as 24 spots up the leaderboard.

The lowest score of round two came from Andrea Wong (San Francisco, CA) carding eight birdies and four bogies. Wong moved up the leaderboard 24 spots into T4 at even par overall. Yue Ren (Arcadia, CA) takes over the top spot on the leaderboard after 36 holes by carding a second round 69 (-3). Ren started her round with three straight birdies but found trouble on the fourth hole posting a double bogey. She made the turn a one over par, but found her initial spark again on the back nine and added four more birdies to her round. Sarah White (Dallas, Texas) takes over solo second after a second round 70 (-2). White carded three birdies and three bogies, but eagled on her final hole the day the par 5 18th. Olivia Benzin (Tacoma, WA) moves into solo third after posting 1-under through 36 holes. Six are tied for fourth at even par going into the third round.

Bladen’s Kayla Thompson shot another 77 in the second round to post a two day score of 154 to be in tie for 49th place.

Round 3 will begin tomorrow morning at 8:00 A.M. Players have been repaired for round 3 and will go off in reverse horseshoe with leaders teeing off in the afternoon. After tomorrows round a cut will be made to the top 43 and ties.
