Clarkton’s Kayla Thompson paced the UNCW Lady Seahawks to a second place finish this past weekend at the William and Mary Golf Invitational.
Thompson, a senior at UNCW, shot rounds of 75-71-75=221 to tie for fourth place among 55 lady golfers.
Penn State University won the tourney with a total of 888 strokes while UNCW had 890 strokes. This was the first tournament of the school year for the Lady Seahawks. Their next tournament is the Furman Lady Paladin Invitational in Greenville, S.C. September 22-24.
