FAIRMONT – For the second straight meet, West Bladen junior Keegan Haraldson and the Lady Knights’ team were the winners in Thursday’s cross country meet at Fairmont.

 

Haraldson who won at Red Springs 2 weeks ago took top honors again in the boys meet with a time of 20 minutes and 5 seconds that was 47 seconds better than St. Pauls’ Shaun Emanuel. West Bladen’s Bradley Taylor finished 4th with a time of 23:57.

 

Sophomore Lainey Autry headed a group of West Bladen girls who claimed 6 of the top 9 places Thursday to defeat St. Pauls by a 27-34 points margin in the girls meet. Autry placed third behind the Lady Bulldogs Jakiya Thompson and Taliyn Council with a time of 28 minutes, 5 seconds.

 

West Bladen’s Tinyauh Rhoda claimed 4th place with a time of 28:44 followed by Lady Knight sophomore Kaden Thurman who was 5th with a time of 29 minutes flat.

 

The Lady Bulldogs Jashonte Harris was 6th, but places 7-9 were claimed by West Bladen’s Azillyah McDonald (30:00), Violet Allen (31:40) and Olivia Allen (31:46). Cassi Humphrey was in 16th place for West with a time of 36:05.

 

Coach Brian McCleney’s Knights will travel to Red Springs Wednesday for their next meet.
