A Kelly man was shot and killed at his residence and a woman was kidnapped Thursday night, according to the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office.
Christopher Clibbons, 21, was found dead from a gunshot wound after deputies arrived at his home at 1763 Lightwood Knot Road in Kelly about 10:30 p.m., according to a news release from the Sheriff’s Office.
Demecus Devone McMillian, 29, of Wallace, has been charged with murder and kidnapping and has been placed in the Bladen County Detention Center, the Sheriff’s Office said.
McMillian’s estranged wife, 30-year-old Tasheena Shandelle McMillian, was found safe by Pender County deputies after being taken from Clibbons’ residence by Demecus McMillian, the Sheriff’s Office said.
According to authorities, Demecus McMillian was found by Wallace police at his residence in Wallace.
The Bladen County Sheriff’s Office said Tasheena McMillian implicated Demecus McMillian in the shooting of Clibbons.
The Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation.
