The Elizabethtown Kiwanis Club met on Tuesday at San Jose Restaurant and heard from members of Boy Scout Troop 622 of Dublin regarding their activities this year.  Scout Leader Alex Hursey thanked the Kiwanians for their support of the troop. President-elect Lindlin Bryan presented a donation form the Kiwanis Club to the Scout Troop.

Attending with Hursey were Scouts Ian Hursey and Jamison Whiting. Hursey said both of the young scouts have earned about 30 merit badges.  Ian Hursey gave the Kiwanians an update about the troop. He said the troop had been camping at Camp McNeil located on NC 53 West near White Oak. Ian told the group that several Scouts earned merit badges and several earned the mile swim award. The Scouts also attended the Honored Troop Awards and Chili Cook-off held in Wilmington. The Scouts have also earned traffic safety, medical safety, and farm mechanics badges. The troop has grown to 9 Scouts.

Dr. Lisa Bryan updated the Kiwanians on the Division Council meeting which is planned for April 1.
