WILMINGTON – East Bladen grad Lacey Suggs posted the second double-double of her UNC-Wilmington career Saturday scoring a team-high 24 points and grabbing 11 rebounds as the Lady Seahawks rolled to an 84-46 non-conference victory over South Carolina State.

Suggs connected on 12 of her 15 shots from the field, dished out 5 assists and had 4 steals. The 11 rebounds matched her career high. The White Lake native tossed in the first basket of the game as UNC-W never trailed.

On Wednesday night, Suggs totaled 12 points and 5 rebounds, but UNC-Wilmington dropped a narrow 59-58 decision to Longwood in Farmville, VA.

Suggs’ former East Bladen teammate, Abby Ward, made her first appearance in a varsity game for the Lady Seahawks against South Carolina State and grabbed one rebound.
