WILMINGTON – East Bladen grad Lacey Suggs recorded her fourth straight double-figure game Sunday as her 18 points led UNC-Wilmington to a 66-58 Colonial Athletic Association victory over William & Mary.

Suggs filled up the stat sheet with 18 points, 8 rebounds, 4 steals and 3 assists. The 5-10 junior connected on 5 of 10 shots from the field and all 4 of her free throws and made a career-best four 3-point shots out of five attempts.

The White Lake native nailed a pair of 3-point shots in the opening quarter as the Lady Seahawks built a 14-12 lead. Suggs closed the half with a pair of steals and bombed in a pair of 3-point baskets as the UNC-Wilmington lead grew to 36-27.

After the Tribe pulled to within 53-51, a Suggs steal and assist set up a 3-point basket for teammate Ahyiona Vashon. A pair of Suggs free throws with 12 seconds left sealed the verdict.

The Lady Seahawks have now won 12 consecutive home games but will hit the road Friday for a 7 p.m. game at Towson State.
