BOSTON, MA – White Lake native Lacey Suggs poured in 22 points for UNC-Wilmington Sunday, but a late 3-ball gave Northeastern a 63-61 Colonial Athletic Association victory over the Lady Seahawks.

Suggs started the final period with a 3-point basket then worked the paint for a trio of lay-ups and 2 free throws as UNC-W rallied from 13 points down to take a 61-60 lead. Northeastern’s Shannon Todd drilled the winning 3-point shot with 25 seconds left.

It was a day of milestones for Suggs who moved into 19th place on the UNC-W all-time scoring list with 935 career points. It was the 10th career 20-point game for Suggs who has scored in double-figures in 11 of her last 12 games.

Suggs dropped in 3 lay-ups in the first quarter as UNC-Wilmington raced to a 14-2 lead. The senior guard also recorded the 100th assist of her Lady Seahawk career in the third quarter and totaled 5 rebounds in the game.

The Lady Seahawks return home Friday at 7 p.m. when they entertain Elon.
