WILMINGTON – White Lake native Lacey Suggs poured in a career-high 29 points Friday night to lead her UNC-Wilmington Lady Seahawks to a 76-51 Colonial Athletic Association victory over Elon Friday night.

Suggs connected on 11 of 16 shots from the field and on all 5 of her foul shots. The 5-10 junior buried 2 of her four 3-point shots and grabbed 4 rebounds.

The East Bladen grad popped in a pair of jumpers and a free throw as UNC-W built an early 16-7 lead. Suggs threw in 4 jumpers and 2 free throws for 10 points in the second period as the lead grew to 40-28 at halftime.

Suggs opened the final quarter with a short jumper and a 3-point bomb and added another 3-pointer and 2 more baskets in the period. The 29-point performance raised her season average to 10.6 points per game.

The Lady Seahawks improved to 7-3 in conference play and 14-7 overall and will host William & Mary Sunday at 2 p.m.
