HEMPSTEAD, NY – East Bladen grad Lacey Suggs fired in a game-high 17 points and grabbed 7 rebounds to lead her UNC-Wilmington Lady Seahawks to a 62-59 Colonial Athletic Association victory over Hofstra Friday night.

Suggs scored 11 straight points in the third quarter as the Lady Seahawks stretched their lead to 46-34. The senior guard sank 2 free throws, dropped in a lay-up, popped in 2 jumpers from the lane then nailed a 3-point shot.

The White Lake native connected on 6 of 8 shots from the floor and hit 4 of 6 free throws. Suggs has scored in double figures in 10 of the last 11 UNC-W games and has led the Lady Seahawks in scoring 7 times this season.

UNC-Wilmington will play at Northeastern Sunday.
