WILMINGTON – White Lake’s Lacey Suggs poured in a team-high 20 points Sunday to lead UNC-Wilmington’s Lady Seahawks to a 77-73 victory over first-place Towson in Colonial Athletic Association basketball action.

Suggs made 9 of 10 shots from the field including her only 3-point attempt and grabbed 4 rebounds while playing 39 minutes. UNC-Wilmington improved to 4-1 in the CAA and 11-5 overall.

The East Bladen grad scored 9 points and pulled down 5 rebounds in a 75-70 win over Elon last Sunday. Suggs connected on 7 of 15 shots from the field and scored 17 points in a 70-64 loss to William & Mary on Jan. 11th.

Suggs is averaging 9.6 points, 4.6 rebounds and almost 2 steals per game this season while playing 30 minutes per game. She has started all 16 games.

The Lady Seahawks will travel north Friday for a noon game at Delaware then visit Drexel at 2 p.m. Sunday in Philadelphia for another league game.
