NEWARK, DE – East Bladen grad Lacey Suggs fired in a season-high 24 points Saturday, but her UNC-Wilmington Lady Seahawks were edged 61-57 by Delaware in Colonial Athletic Association women’s basketball action.

Suggs connected on 7 of 12 shots from the field, sank 9 of 10 free throws and pulled down 4 rebounds. It was the 10th time that Suggs has scored 20 points in her career. The senior guard has scored in double-figures in 5 of her last 6 games and in 21 of 29 games this season.

The 24 points moved Suggs into 15th place on the career UNC-Wilmington scoring list with 1,045 career points.

UNC-Wilmington will open play in the CAA Tournament Wednesday at 2 p.m. against College of Charleston at Elon University’s Schar Center.
