Larrell Murchison Athlete of the Year
East Bladen grad Larrell Murchison has been named Louisburg College’s Male Athlete of the Year in a recent awards ceremony.
Murchison, a sophmore defensive lineman, was a team captain and led the Hurricanes to a perfect 9-0 undefeated season this past fall.
The Elizabethtown native was named a National Junior College Athletic Association All-American Honorable Mention for his performance this year.
Murchison made 29 solo tackles and was credited with 41 total tackles and six sacks. Eighteen of his tackles resulted in a loss of yards for the total team.
As the season ended Murchison was a 3-star recruit and heavily recruited by Mississippi, Texas, Kentucky and others before signing to play football next season at North Carolina State University.
