The Tennessee Titans placed East Bladen graduate Larrell Murchison on injured reserve Friday because of an elbow injury, the team announced.

Murchison suffered the injury Sept. 26 during Tennessee’s 25-16 win against Indianapolis. A defensive lineman, he has been credited with three tackles, including two solo tackles, in the Titans’ first three games.

Players must stay on the injured reserve list at least three games which means the earliest Murchison could return is Oct. 24 when Tennessee hosts the Kansas City Chiefs.

Murchison, 24, is in his second season with the Titans after drafted in the fifth round of 2020 NFL draft.

As a rookie in 2020, Murchison played in 10 games and had five tackles and a tackle for loss. He also played in Tennessee’s 20-13 playoff game loss against the Baltimore Ravens and was credited with assisting on a tackle.

Murchison graduated from N.C. State in 2019 with a degree in sports management.
