Each community college and university prides itself on the resources which are available to their students and communities from research materials to books. The Bladen Community College Student Resource Center Director Sherwin Rice addressed the Elizabethtown Rotary Club recently and explained what materials and services are available to the public and students.

She told the group that the name Student Resource Center  actually means library. Rice said the reason they named it the student resource center is because it is so much more than just a typical library filled with books.

Rice said the library offers access to ebooks, audio books, videos, online magazines, newspapers, and journals. These resources are made available to the college through a network called NC Live.

The library also participates in an inter-library loan program that allows the college to borrow books from any library in the United States.  “We even had a request from someone in England to borrow one of our books,” said Rice.
