The Bladen County Sheriffs Office Training Division and Bladen County Emergency Medical Services presented an Emergency First Aid training session for a group of students from the Paul R Brown Leadership Academy on Friday.

The Instructor providing this important training was Heather Ellis, Training Officer for Bladen County EMS.

“This is the first class of it’s kind presented to our county’s youth. It teaches our children how to address an injury and to increase survivability of more serious injuries and wounds,” said Sgt. Gary Turlington with the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office Training Division.

Sgt. Turlington continued, “This is one of the many purposes of The Bladen County First Responder’s Training Center, to educate and prepare our First Responders and our citizens.”

If any school groups are interested in this training, contact Heather Ellis at Bladen County EMS at (910) 862-6776. This important training is free of charge and demonstrates one of the core missions of both the Sheriff’s Office and Bladen EMS in serving the citizens of our region, stated Sgt. Turlington.

Logistical support was provided by Bladen Community College.
