Two civic minded young ladies will have a lemonade stand at Goldston’s Beach at White Lake on Friday, June 8th, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. to raise money for cancer. Lauren Womble Thomas said her daughter and a friend have decided to raise money for Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer.

Molly and Anna were seeking a way to serve and give back to the community. Thomas said a teacher at Elizabethtown Christian Academy, where the girls attend classes, told them about Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation. According to Thomas, the teacher has a family member who works with the foundation.

Thomas said all of the proceeds the girls receive on Friday will be donated to Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer.

Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer has raised more than $150  million for childhood cancer funded more than 800 research projects that saved the lives of children fighting cancer, according to the foundation’s website.
