Spread the love

Hello December, my favorite month. I love this time of year when we are between the Thanksgiving holiday and the other holidays that flow to the end of another year. The air is crisp and refreshing, the decorations are bright and sparkly, and words of joy and good cheer seem to jump right of the mouths of strangers. It makes me feel hopeful.

Was your recent holiday dinner scrumptious and delicious? Are you ready for the next one? The food is only one of the things I love about the holiday season. (I have a birthday in there too.) I love to see people smiling and laughing while they are shopping for that just-right gift for their loved ones. I love to see children roaming the aisles of the toy department too. That sharp intake of excited breath when they see the toy they’d love to have, and the smile in the eyes of the parents when they see the excited face of their child. Priceless!

Also priceless is the work done by our friends at the Bladen County Department of Health and Human Services. Each month they inspect our restaurants, kitchens, cafeterias, daycare centers, and grocery store delis to ensure healthy and sanitary conditions in our public food supply. They are our first line of defense in controlling food-borne illnesses.

Before you make your next run to the grocery store or the take-out place you like take a look at the chart below to see which eateries were inspected in November and how they scored. Wishing you glad tidings and great joy for the holidays to come, and as always, Bon Appetite.
