LAURINBURG – East Bladen grad Lexi Dawson batted 2-4 Saturday as St Andrews clinched a spot in the Appalachian Athletic Conference Softball Tournament with a 5-4 victory over Reinhardt, GA.
Dawson knocked in a run in the Lady Knights 2-run fifth-inning as the winners rallied from a 4-0 deficit. St. Andrews then scored 3 runs in the sixth inning to pull out the victory.
The Garland native raised her batting average to .313 and her slugging percentage to .400 with the two hits. She now has 25 hits, 7 doubles and 10 runs batted in.
The Lady Knights improved to 7-12 in league play and 16-27 overall. St. Andrews travels to Belmont Abbey Saturday for a double-header that begins at 2 p.m.
