The benefits of a women’s conference are many, but one local conference has added benefits this year.
Tonya Hoglen, Founder of Girlfriends In Faith Together (G.I.F.T.) is bringing the third annual G.I.F.T. Conference back to Bladen County. The Unshakable Conference will be held at White Lake on Saturday, October 5, 2019.
Hoglen explained the mission of the conference. She said, “God gave me the name and vision for G.I.F.T. – Girlfriends In Faith Together. He gave me a passion to encourage and empower women through Christian fellowship and Christ-centered conferences that are local, affordable, one-day events that provide a welcoming, safe, and nonjudgmental space.”
Hoglen explained the conferences are executed with excellence so that each lady feels as though she is special and loved.
“This conference was a lifesaver for me,” Mrs. Suzann Perroud said, “When I moved here 3 years ago, I didn’t know anyone. I came to this conference and made so many friends.”
“This year I will probably be bringing 10 friends with me,” Perroud added.
“This is an awesome day of gifted speakers and worship, complete with a photo booth, catered lunch and doorprizes. You don’t want to miss out,” Hoglen said.
We are going to be collecting toiletries and monetary donations to give to the local rehabilitation facility for women, Teen Challenge, Barbara Knight, a G.I.F.T. Volunteer stated.
She continued saying, “I think this is going to be a very special day and I’m very excited about it.”
This year, kidnap survivor, Philippians Missionary and author, Gracia Burnham will be the guest speaker. World Changer McKaylin Darsey along with three local speakers Beth Foster, Debbie Burkhardt, and Melissa Rogers will all share the stage for their impactful messages as well.
Each year the ladies in attendance are seated at decorated tables and lunch is catered. The G.I.F.T. conferences provide an opportunity for ladies to attend a low cost local conference keeping family and financial responsibilities in mind.
