East Bladen senior Lily Lin has been selected as a regional recipient of the 2021 Willie Bradshaw Memorial Scholarship.
This scholarship, given in memory of Willie Bradshaw, provides financial support to outstanding African American, American Indian/Alaska Native and/or Asian Pacific Islander American, or Hispanic American student-athletes participating on sanctioned varsity teams at North Carolina High School Athletic Association (NCHSAA) member schools.
Lin was notified of her selection in a letter from Andrew Wilkins, the Assistant Director of Development, Marketing & Special Programs for the NCHSAA. In accordance with this award, Lin will receive $750 in financial assistance in furthering her college or university education.
The scholarship recipients will be recognized at a virtual awards ceremony at a later date. They will be honored with a video tribute, and the state recipients will be announced. The state recipients will be awarded an additional $1,000.
Lin was a member of the East Bladen basketball team and is currently the goalkeeper for the unbeaten Lady Eagle soccer team. Lin has posted 6 shutouts in goal and has recorded 47 saves in 9 games.
