Davidson, NC – Local law firm owners Bob McIntosh and Larry Shaheen, Jr. announced the formation of Carolina Revaluation Services, a joint venture between their firms, to assist commercial and residential property owners with their property revaluation appeals. The practice area will cover all counties in North Carolina currently undergoing revaluation.

“Revaluation letters with newly assigned values will be going out later this month and we felt it important to the community to offer legal services to homeowners and businesses at an affordable price to address concerns they may have,” said Bob McIntosh of The McIntosh Law Firm.

Shaheen is well versed in the intricacies of property revaluation as he most recently served as Chief of Staff to former NC Senator Jeff Tarte.  Tarte authored the bill that fixed the flawed 2011 Mecklenburg County property revaluations.

The two firms have joined forces to help ensure that every individual, who chooses to do so, has the opportunity to speak with an attorney prior to appealing.  “With an estimated 77% average increase in property valuations for commercial properties, we wanted to provide service to businesses, as well as individuals, impacted by the revaluations”, says Shaheen.

Shaheen and McIntosh will be joined by McIntosh Law Firm attorneys George Cunningham and Chris Gelwicks. Gelwicks says, “We believe people are going to have questions and we are here to help.” Mr. Cunningham served two years as Chair and two years as Vice Chair of the North Carolina Property Tax Commission. Mr. Gelwicks brings years of experience in dealing with property ownership matters.  He is a member of the Community Association Institute (CAI) and has appeared on WSOC and WCNC as an expert in community association law.

With offices in Davidson and the South Park Area of Charlotte, Carolina Revaluation Services is a new alternative to appealing your property valuation. Their team of attorneys, real estate advisers, and appraisers bring over 50 years of experience in revaluations and property law to serve their clients.
