The Low Income Income Energy Assistance Program (LIEAP) will begin accepting applications on December 1, 2017.

Households who have a member age 60 or older or a disabled person receiving services through the Division of Aging and Adult Services are eligible to apply between December 1 and December 31 or until the funds are exhausted. All other households may apply for LIEAP benefits from January 1, 2018 through March 31, 2018 or until the funds are exhausted.

The Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIEAP) provides a one-time payment to help eligible families pay their heating expenses. All household’s determined eligible for LIEAP must provide the agency with the name of the company where they would like to have their payment sent.

Citizens may come by the Department of Social Services located at 208 East McKay Street from 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday through Friday to apply for LIEAP. For general information or additional questions, please call (910) 862-6888.
