GREENSBORO – East Bladen’s Malcolm Bolden finished 5th in the long jump at the NCHSAA Class 2A State Track Field Championships Friday, and West Bladen’s Tydrick Stewart captured 8th place in the 100 meter dash.

North Surry’s Jared Hiatt won the long jump with a leap of 22 feet, 10.75 inches. Bolden jumped 21 feet, 0.25 inches to take 5th place honors.

Jonathan Paylor of Burlington Cummings High won the 100 meter dash in 11.19 seconds. Stewart posted a time of 11.6 seconds to place eighth.

East Bladen’s Jaden Pridgen hurled the discus 122 feet to finish 9th in his event. East Surry’s Isaac Vaden had the winning throw of 145 feet, 1 inch.

Boys 4×200 Relay – 10th East Bladen (Blaine Pope, Omarion Atkinson, Timothy McLean, Malcolm Bolden) 1:33.25.

Boys 4×100 Relay – 10th East Bladen (Willie Battle, Blaine Pope, Timothy McLean, Malcolm Bolden) 44.36.

Boys Long Jump – 14th Willie Battle (EB) 19-2.25.

Girls Shot Put – 15th Jessalynn Vendrick (WB) 29-3.25; 16th Maya McDonald (EB) 27-4.25.

Girls 4×200 Relay – 12th East Bladen (Sabara McLean, Maya McDonald, Laila Smith, Trinity Kemp) 1:51.05: 15th West Bladen (Trinity Meares, Trinity VanEyken, Kiera Lewis, Shanyla Hunter) 1:52.32.
