A man has barricaded himself in his home on Bohica Drive following a shooting incident on Thursday morning. According to Major Larry Guyton, the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office has requested assistance from the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office Hostage Negotiation and SRT team.

Major Guyton said a call came into the 911 Call Center at about 4 a.m. from a woman saying she had a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He said when the ambulance transported the victim to Cape Fear Valley-Bladen Healthcare, she alleged her boyfriend had shot her.

“She was shot multiple times in the chest area and arm,” said Major Guyton.

He said officers used a K-9 and tracked the shooter through the woods back to his residence. He is now barricaded in his residence, said Major Guyton.
