A man died from an apparent gunshot wound Monday near the Bladen County-Columbus County board in what did not appear to be a random act, Columbus County Sheriff Jody Greene said.
Kris Andrey Bryant, 49, was found dead after Columbus County Sheriff’s deputies arrived at residence in the 200 block of Bowen Blanks Drive in the East Arcadia area of Riegelwood, according to a news release.
According to Greene, deputies and members of the Acme-Delco-Riegelwood Fire and Rescue were sent to the house shortly after 10 a.m. Monday after a call for cardiac arrest. Upon arrival, deputies found Bryant dead from an apparent gunshot wound. An investigation began immediately.
Greene said the apparent shooting appeared to be an isolated incident.
