
Jones Lake State Park has released its March program itinerary. Learn about snakes, take a hike and cast a line for fishing.

SNAKES
March 8, 2 p.m.
Ever wonder what snakes’ species are at home in eastern North Carolina? Which ones are venomous? Join a park ranger at the Visitor Center in exploring the various snakes in this area and the other unique species found throughout North Carolina.
CAROLINA BAY HIKE
March 15, 2 p.m.
Join a park ranger and learn about the geological mysteries of the Carolina Bays. Formation theories and the natural communities associated with Carolina Bays will be discussed. Participants should meet at the Jones Lake State Park Visitor Center at 2 p.m.
BAY LAKES FISHING
March 29, 2 p.m.
Join a park ranger to fish the mysterious waters of a Carolina Bay Lake. Fishing equipment and bait will be provided, if needed. A valid North Carolina Inland Fishing License is required for participants ages 16 and above. There is a limit of 14 people, so registration is required. Call the park at 910-588-4550 to register. Meet at the Visitor Center.
