State Champ, Mary Caitlin Campbell
SPOKANE, WA – Bladen County’s Mary Caitlin Campbell finished sixteenth in the Women’s 3-Lift Open event for the 72kg (154 pound) Class Saturday in the USA Powerlifting Raw Nationals at the Hotel RL.
Campbell who won the USA Powerlifting North Carolina State 72kg Raw Open back in June posted personal bests Saturday in the squat (167.5 kgs, 369.3 lbs) and dead-lift (175.4 kgs, 385.8 lbs). She also benched 87.5 kgs (192.9 lbs).
The Bladenboro native’s total for the 3 lifts was 430 kgs or 948 lbs. That was an improvement over her winning totals from the state meet of 420 kgs (926 lbs). It was her second year of competing in the USAPL Nationals. Campbell finished 22nd at the 2017 Raw Nationals in Orlando.
San Diego’s Kristen Dunsmore and Indianapolis’ Kloie Doublin tied for the top spot in the 72kg Class with totals of 495 kgs (1,089 lbs) for the 3 lifts. Dunsmore won the tie-breaker for the championship.
