Dawn Maynard, Executive Director of the Elizabethtown – White Lake Chamber of Commerce addressed the Elizabethtown Rotary Club this past week about next weekend’s White Lake Water Festival and the 2015 Summer Concert Series.

Maynard is excited about the upcoming events the Chamber of Commerce will be hosting this spring and summer. The first fun filled opportunity will be the 37th Annual White Lake Water Festival scheduled for May 15th and 16th. The festivities will start at 6:30 pm on Friday, May 15th with the Classic Car Cruise and continue with a Street Dance at Goldston’s Beach featuring the “Southern Touch Band” from 7 pm until 9 pm.

Saturday, May 16th will be a day full of food, activities and good times. Arts, Crafts and Business Vendors will have booths. Folks will enjoy amusement rides, Isabella the Clown, face painting, a petting zoo, an antique tractor display, a Lawn and Garden Tractor Pull, a Cornhole Tournament and live entertainment with music and Semi-Professional Wrestling.

The festival will end at The Venue with a dance Saturday night featuring, “Gary Lowder & Smokin’ Hot” band. For more information visit www.whitelakewaterfestival.com.

After the White Lake Water Festival comes to an end Bladen County may look forward to the 2015 Summer Sounds Concert Series hosted by the Chamber and Cape Fear Valley Hospital. All the concerts will be free at the Cape Fear Farmers Market in Elizabethtown. The dates of the concerts are July 9th, July 23rd, August 13, and the August 27th. Featured bands will be the “Band of Oz”, “North Tower”, “Fantastic Shakers”, and the “Blackwater Rhythm & Blues”.
