ELIZABETHTOWN – Senior Greyson Heustess scored all 3 East Bladen goals Wednesday night to record a ‘Hat Trick’ as the Eagles claimed a key 3-0 Three Rivers Conference men’s soccer victory over Whiteville.

The victory gave Coach Jay Raynor’s Eagles a 2-game lead over Whiteville and St. Pauls in the race for the TRC championship. East Bladen improved to 10-1 in league play and 14-1-2 overall.

The three goals lifted Heustess’ total for the season to 25 goals in 17 games. Heustess scored one goal in the first half and tacked on two more in the second half.

Seniors Pierce Melvin and Keshaun Davis and junior Jake Evans were credited with assists in the game for the Eagles.

Senior Spencer Scott returned from an injury and went the distance in goal to record his first shutout of the season for the Eagles. Scott was credited with one save in the game.

East Bladen will travel to Red Springs Monday night.
