ELIZABETHTOWN – Senior Greyson Heustess fired in a pair of first-half goals to lead East Bladen to a 5-0 non-conference men’s soccer victory over Scotland Tuesday night.

In the 12th minute of play, Ethan Sanchez banged in a header for the first East Bladen goal. Eleven minutes later junior Milton Estrada sent a pass to freshman Chase Starkloff who delivered the ball to Heustess. Heustess finished from 9 yards out for a 2-0 Eagle lead.

Moments later senior Dan Tatum ignited another Eagle scoring burst with a delivery to Heustess who sent the ball on to junior Jay McGill. McGill found the back of the net from 13 yards out as the lead grew to 3-0.

Five minutes later junior Gabe Barber sent a pass to senior Brian Monroe. Monroe passed the ball on to Heustess who knocked in his second goal from 17 yards out for a 4-0 Eagle lead at halftime.

Sanchez started the flurry that led to the final East Bladen goal in the second half with a pass to sophmore Garrett Melvin. Melvin delivered the ball to senior Ezequiel Arteaga who pounded in the 16-yard shot for the final margin.

Sophmore Jacob Priest recorded the shutout in goal for the Eagles and was credited with four saves.

Coach Jay Raynor’s Eagles, now 2-0, will travel to Scotland Tuesday night.
