LAURINBURG – Senior Greyson Heustess recorded a ‘Hat Trick’ of 3 goals to lead East Bladen to a 9-0 non-conference men’s soccer victory over Scotland Tuesday night.

Heustess also dished out an assist and was credited with 14 steals. Sophmore Garrett Melvin fired in two goals and finished with 11 steals for the Eagles.

Seniors Pierce Melvin and Bryan Monroe, freshman Chase Starkloff and junior Gabe Barber scored one goal each for the winners who led 6-0 at halftime. The game was stopped due to the mercy rule 14 minutes into the second half.

Monroe, senior Dan Tatum and senior Ezequiel Arteaga dished out two assists each. Barber, junior Jay McGill and sophmore Jacob Priest added one assist each.

Arteaga led the East Bladen defense with 19 steals. Junior Milton Estrada was right behind him with 18 steals. Senior Keshaun Davis finished with 17 steals, and Pierce Melvin totaled 16 steals.

McGill, Tatum and Barber contributed 15 steals each. Sophmore Jay McKoy collected 13 steals each. Monroe added 12 steals, and Starkloff had 10 steals.

Priest recorded the shutout in goal for the Eagles.

Coach Jay Raynor’s Eagles improved to 3-0 on the season and will host Wallace-Rose Hill Thursday night.

East Bladen defeated Scotland 3-2 in the jayvee game.
