PEMBROKE – West Bladen and Purnell Swett battled to a 2-2 tie Monday night in the men’s soccer non-conference season opener for West Bladen.

Purnell Swett took a 1-0 lead into halftime, but Chris Frank fired in the tying goal on a free kick for the Knights in the second half. Victor Lopez put West Bladen ahead 2-1 with a goal just minutes later.

The Rams tallied the tying goal with just six minutes left to play.

“Overall the game was a defensive one,” said Knight Coach Phillip Turnage. “We played well but look to improve in our next match versus Midway.”
