BLADENBORO – Senior Pablo Ortega blasted in 2 goals Wednesday night to lead West Bladen to a 3-0 Three Rivers Conference men’s soccer victory over East Columbus.
Ortega also scored 2 goals in Saturday’s 4-1 Knight win at East Columbus and has now scored 5 goals in his last 3 games. Sophmore Keni Verdugo Gomez fired in the other goal for the Knights who led 2-0 at halftime.
“Our defense had a great game,” said West Bladen Coach Phillip Turnage. “It was our Senior Night, so I was glad that we prevailed. We have another tough game tomorrow against Whiteville.”
The Knights improve to 5-4 in league play and will travel to Whiteville Thursday night for a 6:00 game.
