BLADENBORO – Andre Moore pitched a 5-hitter and struck out 10 batters to lead Bladenboro to a 14-6 non-conference middle school baseball victory over Tabor City Tuesday.

After the Red Devils grabbed an early 2-0 lead, the Bulldogs rallied for 2 runs in the home 1st. Hezekiah Adams led off with a single, and Moore reached base on an error. Both of them came around to score.

Walks to Trenton Meares, Gavin Elks and Luke Howell started the Bulldog 2nd inning. Two outs later Moore and Aiden Russ drew walks, and Cade Allen belted a single. Meares, Elks, Howell, Moore and Russ all scored runs as the Bulldog lead grew to 7-2.

Meares reached base on an error to begin the Bladenboro 3rd inning. Elks smacked a single, and Chason Harris reached base on an error. Adams slammed a double, and Moore cracked a single. Allen and Steven Matheson reached base. Meares, Elks, Harris, Adams, Moore, Allen and Matheson all scored as the lead ballooned to 14-3.

Adams batted 2-for-3 with a double and 2 runs scored for the Bulldogs. Moore, Allen, and Elks connected for 1 hit each. Moore scored 3 runs. Meares and Elks scored 2 runs each. Russ, Allen, Matheson, Howell and Harris scored 1 run each.

Coach Tim Benton’s Bulldogs, now 2-0, will travel to Williams Thursday for their Waccamaw Middle School Division AA opener.
