Logan West hammered a 2-out, walk-off double that lifted Bladenboro to a 5-4 Bladen Five Middle School Conference baseball victory over visiting Elizabethtown Wednesday.

West came to the plate with 2 runners on base, and the score tied 4-4 when he delivered the winning hit.

“We never led in the game until the end, “ said Bulldog Coach Steve Thurman. “It was a good ballgame.”

West pitched a complete-game 5-hitter and struck out seven to pick up the victory. J. McKoy connected for two of the Cougar hits.

David Valenta cracked 3 hits to lead the Bulldog hitters. Teammate Nolan Bryant belted 2 hits for Bladenboro.

The Bulldogs improved to 2-1 in the Bladen Five with the victory. Elizabethtown is now 1-2 in the conference.
