WHITEVILLE – Cade Allen pitched a 2-hitter and struck out 7 batters to lead Bladenboro to a 6-1 Waccamaw Middle School Conference baseball victory Thursday over Williams Township.

Allen walked 2 batters, and the only Aggie run was unearned. He also had a big day at the plate batting 3-for-4 with a double, 2 runs batted in and 2 runs scored.

Teammates Hezekiah Adams, Aiden Russ, Weston Hilburn, Steven Matheson and Jonah Bryan connected for one hit each. Andre Moore scored 2 runs, and Matheson and Gavin Elks scored 1 run each. Bryan drove in a run.

Moore drew a 1-out walk in the Bulldog 1st inning, and Russ, Hilburn and Matheson cracked back-to-back-to-back singles that scored Moore for a 1-0 lead.

Allen laced a single to right field in the Bulldog 4th inning and scored to push the lead to 2-0.  Jordan Smith reached base on an error in the Aggie 4th and raced home on Caden Mills’ single to slice the lead to 2-1.

Moore walked to begin the Bladenboro 5th inning and came around to score for a 3-1 lead. Allen smacked a single to right field in the Bulldog 6th inning and dashed home when Bryan hammered a single to right field that padded the lead to 4-1.

Matheson and Elks drew walks in the Bladenboro 7th inning, and Allen walloped a double to center field that scored Matheson and Elks and stretched the final margin to 6-1.

Coach Tim Benton’s Bulldogs improved to 3-0 overall and 1-0 in Waccamaw AA Division play.
