HARRELLS – Four Emereau Bladen pitchers combined to pitch a 1-hitter and strike out 9 batters as the Aviators cruised to a 12-1 non-conference middle school baseball victory Wednesday over Harrells Christian Academy.

Davion Lewis started on the hill for the Aviators and struck out 5 of the 7 batters that he faced and issued 1 walk. Jayce Hatcher relieved in the 3rd inning and pitched 1.2 scoreless, hitless innings walking 1 batter, hitting two batters and striking out one.

Easton Bostic came on to strike out the final batter of the 4th inning then retired 2 of the first 3 batters in the 5th inning – one by strike-out – and issued one walk. Zach Sholar pitched the final 1.1 innings and gave up an unearned run on an error, a walk and a single while striking out one.

Sholar, Tyler Eason and Lewis belted singles to start the Emereau 1st inning with Sholar scoring on Lewis’ hit. Jake Gooden smashed a double that scored Eason and Lewis. Joshua Dawson drew a walk. Hatcher drilled a double that scored Gooden, and Tredon Scott drove in Dawson and Hatcher with a 2-run single that pushed the Aviator lead to 6-0.

Eason hammered a double to start the Aviator 2nd inning, and Lewis knocked in Eason with a double. Gooden delivered a single that scored Lewis and padded the Emereau lead to 8-0.

Lewis walloped a double to start the Aviator 6th inning. Hatcher, Bostic and Jamari Peterson drew walks that scored Lewis. Landyn Scott cracked a single that plated Hatcher and Bostic. Sholar swatted a single that brought home Peterson and stretched the lead to 12-0.

Lewis batted 3-for-4 with 2 doubles, 2 runs batted in and 3 runs scored to lead the Emereau hitters. Gooden finished a perfect 2-for-2 at the plate with a double, 3 RBIs and a run scored. Eason was 2-for-4 at the plate with a double and 2 runs scored.

Sholar batted 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored. Hatcher doubled, scored twice and had an RBI. Tredon Scott and Landon Scott both had 1 hit and 2 RBIs each. Peterson scored a run and had an RBI, and Dawson and Bostic scored runs.

H. Glenn singled for the only Harrells hit and had an RBI.
